I remember clearly one day when I was fourteen years old when everything just clicked and I realized that I wanted to pursue computer animation. Growing up I spent a lot of time drawing my favorite cartoon characters over and over again; my mother even let me paint a giant size Garfield on my bedroom wall when I was in 5th grade. Needless to say, my passion for art at a young age was the center of my little universe that led me down the path I am currently on. As an adult I have an overwhelming desire to go to movies (almost every weekend) that might boarder on obsession. I enjoy being submersed in a great story whether it comes from a movie, video game, book, or graphic novel.
I graduated in 2007 from Full Sail University with a bachelor degree in Computer Animation. I focused mainly on 3D character/environment modeling, texturing, and lighting. Since then, I have been doing freelance work as a modeler and texture artist and have worked on a few unpublished shorts and video games. More recently I worked as a texture artist on the web series “The New Kind”. I recently worked as a Data Entry Clerk at Alutiiq where I was responsible for working on technical publications for military aircraft until recently returning to school full time.
I am currently attending North Carolina State University as a graduate student in Art and Design with a focus in Animation and New Media. I hope to further develop my skills as an artist and designer by concentrating on character design, storytelling, and animating. I currently work as a Research Assistant for the IntelliMedia Group in the Department of Computer Science at North Carolina State University.
