Sofie Muska

Graduate Student

[email protected]

Sofie Muska is a first-year Ph.D. student in the Department of Computer Science at North Carolina State University. Her undergraduate background includes both a degree in computer science and a degree in the humanities—a result of her desire to combine her interest in AI with her interest in language learning and creative writing.

Ms. Muska’s undergraduate research experience focused on image processing and on computer-vision-related deep learning. Ms. Muska is fluent in three languages—English, Czech, and French—and spent the penultimate year of her undergraduate studies working on a science fiction novel draft as part of an honors college artist program. She enjoys spaces where art and language meet computing, such as video game design.

Ms. Muska’s background and experience led her to a research interest in narrative generation and in natural language processing. She is excited to pursue both as part of the IntelliMedia Group and hopes to make worthy contributions to the group’s projects as she works towards her Ph.D.
